CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – LOCAL IMPLEMENTING PARTNERS

Mercy Corps

Resilient Approaches in Natural Rangeland Ecosystems (RANGE) Program Description.

Mercy Corps (MC) is a leader in integrated programming in gender, nutrition, peace and governance, market systems and community development and engagement, with a strong presence and history in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL). Mercy Corps is a pioneer and global thought leader in resilience thinking and has deep technical expertise in the livestock sector, built on current and past programming including NAWIRI and LMS programs in ASAL. Resilient Approaches in Natural Rangeland Ecosystems (RANGE) is a five-year (2024-2028) program funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The program’s goal is to strengthen the resilience of the ASAL communities that contribute to sustainable economic and social development in a well-managed landscape. To achieve this, RANGE will primarily focus on the livestock sector as the most immediate driver of improved resilience, while also building support for alternative livelihoods and appropriate ago-pastoralism approaches in the counties of Isiolo, Samburu and Marsabit. RANGE will target a diverse array of stakeholders, including community members (women and youth; livestock owners; ward planning committees), government stakeholders (national, county and ward-level), private sector actors, peace-building structures, land management structures, development partners, research and policy agencies and financial institution.
The purpose of this call is to solicit interest for a competitive selection process for prospective local partners to participate as Local implementation partners in the RANGE Program, in Samburu, Isiolo and Marsabit counties. The call is primarily for the partner to express its unique advantage and added value in line with the program goal.
