Business Support Officer

Programme Delivery is part of the HR&OD function. The team provides timely and cost effective programme and project management resourcing solutions, and subject matter expertise to the wider organisation. Strategically, we support the delivery of the ambitions outlined in the Long Term Plan for the NHS.

The Programme Delivery and Deployment function provides a service to NHS England and NHS Improvement teams who are at the forefront of delivering national priorities as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan and Five Year Forward View.

We support a range of high-profile projects, programmes and transformative initiatives which include the New Hospitals Programme, Covid-19 Workforce Programme, Elective Recovery Programme, the National Cancer Strategy, Learning Disability & Autism Programme, Digital Transformation Programme among many other priority delivery areas.

We deliver this service through deploying a flexible pool of project and programme management (PPM) subject matter experts – our Programme Delivery function – working at Agenda for Change bands 5-8C. Our staff work in a matrix style environment with staff members embedded in programme teams for an agreed period of time (typically 3-6 months in duration). Whilst on such assignments our staff are well supported by their home team which provides line management, training and development and regular updates and communication.
