Business Strategy and Development – ABA PAID Intern

The American Bar Association Center for Global Programs’ Business Development team seeks one Business Development Intern. The Business Development Intern will assist with various day to day tasks such as developing organizational capacity statements based on previous ABA ROLI (Rule of Law Initiative) and ABA CHR (Center for Human Rights) program work, assisting with development of trainings on business development and proposal development topics, assisting with resource development and proposal library classification, conducting research pertinent to opportunities in the proposal or information gathering phase, assisting on proposal development for live opportunities as needed, and other tasks subject to interests. The Business Development Intern will gain the opportunity to learn about international program proposal development for U.S. government donors and the entire business development lifecycle through existing training and work with staff. The Business Development intern should be proactive, curious, organized, detail oriented, and interested in learning

Paid Interns will gain valuable experience while contributing to the important work of the ABA. The internship program is structured for the primary benefit of the intern and provides the intern with meaningful training/experience and educational benefits.

Eligibility: To be eligible for a paid internship, individuals must be 18 years of age or older, and authorized to work in the United States

Work Location: Combination of in office and remote/telework.

Duration of Internship: twelve (12) weeks

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Assist relevant business unit in accomplishing the mission and goals of the ABA.

• Accepts and completes assigned projects during the term of the internship.

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to multitask.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Possession of or working towards a bachelor’s or graduate degree, relevant to the area of work, from an accredited college or university.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
• Undergraduate students preferred
• Strong writing skills, including on political science, government, or other related topics
• Solid organizational skills and task management with capability to identify priorities and handle multiple priorities at once
• Interest in international development, programs, rule of law, or other similar topic area
