Business Partnerships and Innovation Lead

Save the Children - UK

£45,900 – £54,000

London/ Home-based

We are looking for an experienced and innovative individual to join us as our Business Partnerships and Innovation Lead.

The postholder will work with business and philanthropists in a way that facilitates their contribution to development outcomes by leveraging their unique assets and capabilities whilst enabling Save the Children to amplify its impact.

Our Global Programmes department delivers humanitarian and development programmes and builds partnerships with the private sector, institutional donors (governments, multi-laterals) and foundations/trusts – and drives lasting change. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights, and help them fulfil their potential.

Save the Children has recently developed a new strategy outlining how we will help children to survive, learn, be protected, and to flourish in the face of the biggest threats to their futures – Covid, Conflict and Climate Change.

To meet this challenge, we must grow and build new partnerships focussed on impact, which deliver resources, influence, engagement, and skills in support of our global and country goals. The Business Partnerships and Innovation Lead will play an integral part in this journey and drive the proactive co-design of new programmes that realise our ambition for children whilst developing innovative partnerships and capitalising on development financing opportunities.

The postholder will be comfortable taking initiative and working flexibly, able to comfortably navigate complex relationships across a large global movement. You will also have:

· An excellent knowledge of private sector approaches for Base of the Pyramid in developing countries and fragile states (e.g., collective action, shared value, and corporate responsibility, ESG)

· Extensive experience and/or excellent understanding of the contribution of private business to social and economic outcomes.

· A proven track record of securing and developing 6 figure+ corporate partnerships

· A proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships

· Experience of line management

· High degree of self-motivation, top-notch communication and organisational skills.

· Excellent communication skills, to diplomatically engage with a range of stakeholders on key activities, while still meeting tight deadlines

· Practical experience in the fields of international development and/or including an understanding of issues surrounding corporate social responsibility and the role of the private sector in development.

· Willingness and ability to travel abroad for events and activities which further objectives and create impact, and which cannot be achieved remotely

At Save the Children we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are recruited to work for us. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

Our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. If you share our mission, are passionate about making it happen and strongly believe you can contribute then join us and we’ll give you every opportunity to succeed. We look forward to hearing from you.

First Round Interviews scheduled: wk/c 14th and 21st February
