About the role
This role reports directly to the Controller at TFS and is a non-unionized role encompassing primarily accounts payables, reconciliations and some analysis work. This a 4 month co-op position and requires 35 hours/ week. This position is primarily in person with the flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days per week with supervisor approval.
Main Duties
- Assist in Accounts Payable, ensuring all payments are processed with approval, accurately and on a timely basis
- Processing credit card transactions, ensuring users are up to date in submitting reports
- Ensuring all payment records and documentation are maintained up-to-date
- Preparing journal entries and reconciliations
- Assistance during the year-end audit process
- Support in financial reporting as required
- Assist with systems conversion including some testing and documentation
- Any other duties that may be assigned
Who we are looking for
- Minimum 1st year of Commerce program with a major in Accounting
- Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
- Excellent communication in both written and verbal English
- Desire to learn and master technology
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- French language skills are an asset
Please note that the Business Office will close in the summer for 1 week (August 2-5) and this time will be considered vacation or unpaid leave. In addition, although overtime is not expected, peak periods such as year end may require extra hours.
