In partnership with Operations, Clinical Affairs and Behavioral Health functional leaders, the Business Manager is responsible for driving business readiness activities for one or more teams to ensure timely, high-quality implementation of new products, product expansions or major initiatives. The Business Manager works with other leaders to identify and mitigate gaps and risks, filter and prioritize information, and serves as a representative for those leaders in large-scale, organization-wide initiatives.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple functions’ business readiness activities to support the implementation of new products, product expansions or large-scale initiatives
  • Serves as workstream lead for one or more operational workstreams on organization-wide projects managed by the Enterprise Business Operations team; partners with organizational project managers to ensure thorough and timely completion of deliverables
  • Works with functional leaders to identify critical gaps and risks related to product launches or initiatives, and partners with functional leaders to develop mitigation plans to address those risks
  • Represents the needs of several functions at cross-functional meetings, and serves as a key liaison between senior leaders and other teams involved in large-scale initiatives
  • Serves as thought partner to several functional leaders; helps filter and prioritize information related to the product launches or large-scale initiatives
  • Prepares materials for and facilitates meetings with functional leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to secure decisions and ensure completion of critical tasks
  • Provides additional coordination, facilitation or other management support of key functional leaders as needed to support successful initiative completion
  • Supports liaison efforts across departments as it relates to product launch, including Enterprise Business Operations, Product, Finance, Legal and Compliance
  • Other functions as required to support departmental activities
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position

Qualifications

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience in Health Care / Behavioral Health / Public Health or related field

Experience Required

  • 5+ years health care or health plan experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing large-scale projects in a cross-functional environment

Experience Preferred/Desirable

  • Experience with Medicaid and Medicare managed care
  • Management consulting, strategy or similar background

Competencies, Skills, And Attributes

  • Highly developed organizational skills a must
  • Demonstrated ability in leading / facilitating cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, organize and manage complex, high-impact projects
  • Strong working knowledge of health plan business functions and activities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to structure and visualize information to drive decision-making and execution
  • Familiarity with healthcare, particularly Medicaid and/or Medicare managed care

  • Fast paced remote office environment
  • Occasional travel may be required
