Who we are.

PSI is a network of locally rooted, globally connected organizations working to achieve consumer-powered healthcare — people-centered health systems that ensure quality, affordable care wherever and whenever it is needed. Our origins in sexual and reproductive health have grown into a broader mission. Today, we work with the public and private sectors as well as local communities, prioritizing people’s voice and choice and developing solutions to meet their essential health needs. Over the past five decades, we have helped push boundaries, break taboos, set trends, and develop innovative solutions to complex global health challenges.

Join us!

PSI seeks to recruit a Business Development Services (BDS) Manager to oversee the market development strategies in Kisumu while providing oversight support to Homabay Cluster region. This will entail technical support to assist businesses, private sector, and regulators to improve the sustainable management of sanitation and Menstrual Health and Hygiene services in selected counties in Western Kenya under the 5-year USAID-funded Western Kenya Sanitation project (WKSP). The program’s overall goal is to create financially sustainable, transformative, replicable, and locally owned sanitation marketplace in the target counties of western Kenya. Ultimately, the local public and private sectors should deliver products and services that customers are paying for, eliminating the need for ongoing donor support. The objectives to achieve this goal are (1) increased access to, and uptake of market-based improved sanitation and fecal sludge management (FSM) products and services; and (2) increased access to and uptake of market-based improved MHM products and services at the household level.

PSI has been measurably improving the health of Kenyans since 1989. Its approach harnesses the vitality of the private sector to improve health outcomes for clients. It addresses the most serious health challenges affecting resource-poor and vulnerable communities in Kenya, including HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, non-communicable diseases, and the greatest threats to children under 5, including malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia, and malnutrition.
