What does a Business Development Representative do?

As a Business Development Representative at Kinsley Steel, Inc., you will have the unique opportunity to develop and implement a personal business development plan based on our core values and culture. You will play a pivotal role in executing our business development goals and strategies, with the responsibility of tracking progress and reporting results to the Director of Business Development and Project Executive. You will work closely with the team to review potential leads, determining which ones should be pursued to foster growth. Utilizing our CRM software, you will maintain a comprehensive database of customer contacts, potential leads, opportunities, and High Priority Target (HPT) clients. Additionally, you will actively engage with clients throughout projects, ensuring their satisfaction and nurturing future opportunities.

A key aspect of this role involves developing and maintaining relationships with architects, engineers, and real estate brokers, while also coordinating business networking events. Your market research skills will be crucial in promoting Kinsley Steel Division throughout the region of operation, identifying market opportunities, and staying ahead of competitors. Collaboration with the Business Development and Marketing teams will ensure a cohesive and professional marketing program, with the creation of impactful presentations and documents that highlight Kinsley’s competitive advantages. You will also provide support to the project team, assisting with budgeting, estimates, and proposal development. Your dedication to staying up-to-date with competitor information will be essential in shaping our strategies and showcasing our strengths.
