Merchant Sales and Acquiring (MS&A) is a team dedicated to serving the needs of our merchant and acquiring partners in Korea and Mongolia. We want our clients to see Visa as a trusted strategic partner that delivers tangible value and business growth. Our actions are designed to grow payment volume and revenue contributions for merchants, payment facilitators and acquirers while creating new ways for cardholders to pay.
What a MS&A Business Development Manager Does At Visa
The role of MS&A Business Development Manager is to strengthen and develop new partnerships and to drive merchant sales volume and innovative cross-border acceptance solutions for online and offline merchants in Korea and Mongolia. Potential verticals to work on in this role include, but are not limited to, Contactless, Visa Token Service, Tap to Phone, Transit, Urban Mobility and EMV 3DS.
Key to this role is to execute the MS&A and country strategy, driving the contactless roadmap and focus on new payment flows and services revenue generation. The ideal candidate will bring passion for and interest in payments, client-facing skills and presence, and will enjoy working collaboratively across functions and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Drive growth of Merchant Sales Volume (MSV) by working with key merchants, payment facilitators and acquirers in South Korea and Mongolia
- Take charge of country’s contactless acceptance strategy and executions through strategic partnerships
- Ensure a sound and healthy working relationship with key merchants, payment facilitators and acquirers as well as internal Sales and Functional teams at Visa Korea office
- Develop and implement new cross-border acquiring and grow acceptance initiatives and deals to generate incremental revenue
- Find opportunities to launch new cobrand cards and drive performance of existing cobrand portfolio
Why this is important to Visa
The Business Development Manager has the responsibility of deepening Visa’s relationship with key strategic merchants and acquirers, as well as broadening Visa’s acceptance footprint across all channels including face to face, online and mobile in Korea and Mongolia. This role will involve the execution of card acceptance strategies to grow the penetration of electronic payments in designated merchant segments to drive the increase of Merchant Sales Volume (MSV) via merchant initiatives and projects that will grow revenue.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
What You Will Need
Qualifications
We are looking for an individual with strong sales track-record and account management skills, along with deep payment and consulting expertise to provide analysis and strategic thinking to shape the services we deliver to clients. The role will also require the individual to lead sales engagements and develop actionable as well as scalable insights and solutions.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in B2B Sales and Account Management in the digital payment industry
- Profound experiences or projects in acceptance side of cards and payments industries in Korea such as cross-border acquiring, VAN or PGs
- Strong sales and financial competence related to expertise in payments, creating values and structuring deals for clients in the payment ecosystem
- Confidence in selling technical products to enterprise merchants, payment facilitators, acquirers and fintechs
- Strong track record of implementing an annual business plan
- Goal-driven to achieve account, revenue and volume growth targets while ensuring our client adopts Visa’s innovative solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal and ability to communicate at all levels within large organizations
- Business bilingual in Korean and English
- Bachelors degree or higher education in Business or Engineering
