Purpose:
This position is located in MINUSMA, with a duty station in Bamako, the incumbent reports directly to the Service Management Unit within the finance & budget section.

Ultimate result of services:
This resource will work under the supervision of the Chief Finance & Budget Section as a Business Analyst, responsible for assisting the Chief Finance & Budget Section in the timely & effective processing of open invoices.

Role objectives:
Coordinate 3rd party service requests between the sponsoring & the service delivery sections.
In the internal tracking system, record service request details (client, BP number in UMOJA, sponsoring section, description of the service, estimated pricing, payment conditions, frameworks agreement, etc.).
Analyze documentation provided for cost recovery for processing.
Accurately & timely create sales orders in UMOJA.
Maintain a library of relationship management documents & the service catalogue.
Regularly & independently perform checks & controls.
Follow up on pending receivables with the regional service centre in Entebbe.
Maintain & keep up to date files related to the cost recovery process.

Project reporting:
The candidate will work under the supervision of the Chief Finance & Budget Section

Key competencies:
Bachelor’s or equivalent in business or public administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is desirable, in lieu of the bachelors, the candidate with finished high school education with an additional 5 years of relevant work experience are encouraged to apply.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, business administration or related area is required.
Hands on experience with requisitioning is an advantage.
Experience providing services to or in a field operation of the UN’s common system or a comparable large system, such as a national or regional administration, is desirable.
English & French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat, for the post advertised, fluency in either English or French (oral & written) & a working knowledge of another is required.
Knowledge of & ability to apply financial rules, regulations & procedures in the UN environment; knowledge, skills & ability to extract, interpret, analyze & format data across the full range of finance & budget functions.

Total anticipated duration of the contract is for an initial period of 3 months with the option to extend the contract for an additional 3 months.
