Homebased in the US.

Exciting opportunity to join a small team that is expanding in the US. Premier Foods is one of the largest food companies in the UK that is expanding its presence of their beloved brands in North America. The North American team is in its inception, so you have the opportunity to help build the business with a small group of agile team members, while being backed by a large CPG corporation. This position will focus on our Cake and Sweet Treats business in the US.

As Sales Director reporting to the VP of Sales (US), you will be responsible for leading a team of brokers to deliver accelerated revenue, strong profitability, and efficient trade spend while building a branded business and growing market share. Your primary goals in this role will be to maintain current distribution, expand product listings at current customers, and to gain new distribution at new retailers.

The Director is accountable for the development and execution of business planning with the retailer across all Go-To-Market functions within Premier Foods, the Director will serve as a customer expert within the company and therefore, responsible for providing consistent communication, proactively informing the organization about any new and/or potential changes in Retailer requirements, and routinely sharing key business metrics. Working with Head of Sales – Cake and Key Broker partners, the Director will provide on-going fact-based insights about our customers, products, categories and shoppers, and make recommendations to further drive brand and channel strategies.

  • This role allows flexibility to work remotely.

Do you offer:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience within CPG industry (Territory Manager, Sales Planning, Field Sales and or Category Management) preferred. Experience with In Store Bakery or Commercial Bakery strongly preferred
  • 2+ year’s management/people leadership experience preferred
  • Strong selling and organization skills along the ability to navigate cross functionally to find solutions.
  • Strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience working with Broker Partners
  • Ability to work independently; Ability to translate customer direction into sales successes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint), Syndicated Data, Trade Promotion Management
  • Understanding of business financials and experience presenting to Executive leadership within their own company and at top retailers

As Sales Director you will…

  • Develop and maintain strategic customer and brokers relationships
  • Achieve sales volume and spending budgets while maintaining trade spend, Deductions, forecasting accuracy.
  • Maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews, volume commitments, documentation and trackers.
  • Provide timely concise and effective communication both internally and externally.
  • Provide leadership, direction and support to the central team to deliver revenue and profit objectives
  • Creates new business building concepts that increase customer value
  • Influences customer’s strategic direction at the highest levels across critical customer departments
  • Facilitates customer meetings to delivery corporate functional expertise
  • Travel required when needed. Up to 35%
