Bookkeeper Creative Accountancy Practice SME | Central London

Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with a fast-growth accountancy practice specialising in supporting High End Film Productions as well as household-name creatives, artists, and athletes.

The Business

Our client is a leading SME accountancy practice supporting businesses in the TV and Film industry with business and accountancy support. Their clients include production companies, productions themselves, or high net worth individuals in the Entertainment and Sports fields. Having faced rapid growth thanks to the wonderful services they provide, they’re now looking to expand their team and bring on a Payroll Administrator to support the needs of their clients.

Based in a bustling-yet-trendy area of Central London, our client boasts a creative and warm culture, where everyone is passionate about the entertainment industry and enjoys communicating with creative clients daily. They’re looking for members of their team to join the business and stay for a long time, therefore they offer great opportunities to train and progress over time within the business. Because of this, they’re looking for someone to come into the office 5 days a week during to maximize learning opportunities.

The Role

Indirectly reporting to two senior partners within the business, this Bookkeeper/Payroll Administrator will be working in a stand-alone role, providing you with the autonomy to work freely and independently, while being a part of a warm and exciting team culture.

The main responsibilities for this role would be to stay on top of AP/AR, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and managing the payroll process for the business and its clients. This would include processing adjustments, submitting information to HMRC, reconciling invoices and data, and producing reports. Based on the nature of the business, these clients will be big names within the greater Creative or Entertainment industry, providing you with the opportunity to contribute to the accounting function of your favourite shows or films.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an accountancy practice or within the creative industries. The client is looking for someone who is passionate and keen to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into the business.

Responsibilities

  • Managing expenses
  • Monitoring and managing the general ledger
  • Raising invoices
  • VAT returns
  • Daily management of end-to-end payroll process
  • Submit and process payroll information to HMRC
  • Reconcile payroll data and invoices
  • Answer queries from clients
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the Director of Operations and Partners

What We Need To See (essential)

  • At least 3-4 years of experience bookkeeping, with payroll exposure

What We’d Like To See (bonus)

  • Previous experience in the Media or Creative industries (Music/Film/TV/Entertainment/Media)
  • Previous experience at an accountancy practice
  • Demonstrated history of client delivery

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 + study support

Location: London

Start Date: ASAP

Working Pattern: 5 days in-office
