For our international medical partner, Roche Diagnostics Int Ltd. based in Rotkreuz, we are looking for a qualified and motivated Biospecimen Associate for one year with option for extension.

The Biospecimen Acquisition und Management team (BAM) team at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) leads the acquisition and management of biological materials and clinical samples with associated data designed to facilitate and advance local RundD activities. BAM collaborates with various Life Cycle Teams, Projects, and Functional Areas to ensure that customer requirements for biological materials are agreed to, via formal established processes, communicated to on a periodic basis, and met per commitment in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices, Good Clinical Data Management Practices, Quality, and Business standards.

The biospecimen associate (MT3) will facilitate the daily operation associated primarily with the biorepository/inventory und freezer management of biological samples to support the ongoing projects within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS).

Tasks

  • Work under moderate supervision to receive shipments, perform sample verification, store, retrieve and distribute samples
  • Manage sample collection materials and laboratory supplies
  • Organize specimen inventory as directed and ensure accurate and consistent labeling of samples and specimens
  • Support inventory accuracy with routine storage monitoring activities which requires handling of physical samples, labeling and relabeling samples and equipment/freezer maintenance such as defrosting, cleaning filters etc.
  • Prepare samples for transfers and logistic support including global shipments while maintaining an accurate chain of custody
  • Other duties as assigned

Must Haves

  • Relevant vocational training and min. 3 years of relevant prof. experience OR Non relevant vocational training with 2-4 years duration and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient with MS Excel and Google suite
  • English B2 Level
  • Hepatitis vaccination available
  • Able to lift 30lbs, work in cold environment with limited daylight, stand for long periods of time and climb ladders
  • Willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material
  • Self-motivated and solution driven individual who can maintain quality, accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
  • Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player, self organized and motivated individual
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Nice to Haves

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to diagnostics
  • German
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Biobanking experience or Experience handling biological specimens
