MSI Reproductive Choices
To achieve the bold vision of its 2030 strategy, MSI commits to expanding access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights including mitigating risks of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) focusing on sexual violence, through the provision of SGBV response services and care. MSI defined and developed its approach to SGBV through various guidance documents which are complemented by a SGBV basic care training package for providers and non-providers. To further this work, MSI continues to develop and streamline technical, clinical, and operation guidance; learn and adapt from our providers’ experiences though focus group discussions and roll out training in francophone African countries.
MSI is seeking one or more consultants to:
- Provide technical, clinical, and operational inputs into MSI’s SGBV guidance documents
- Review existing guidance documents and findings, results and lessons from training evaluations and focus group discussions and provide recommendations and technical inputs to enhance MSI’s SGBV guidelines
- Conduct SGBV training in at least one Francophone African country (Sahel)
- In consultation with the country programme and with support from MSI, prepare and adapt MSI’s SGBV training package to the Sahel context.
- Conduct MSI’s five- day SGBV training to country programme staff members. Training is preferred to be in-country but will be confirmed pending security clearance. If travel is not possible, the training will take place virtually.
- Document any challenges and if further support is needed to trainees. Support the country programme to develop their cascade training plan based on MSI’s guidance.
- Conduct virtual focus group discussions with MSI’s providers and develop learning briefs based on the findings.
- Conduct diagnostic qualitative research using FGDs to gather provider perspectives and insights on the integration of SRHR and SGBV services in MSI country programmes. Specifically, to identify any challenges to SGBV preparedness and service provision in programmes that are already providing SGBV response services. This will involve virtual qualitative discussions with MSI providers in each country programme selected. Final sample size and methodology will be determined in consultation with MSI.
- Document findings from FGDs into learning briefs.
