Key job responsibilities

As a Business Intelligence Engineer for AWS Prescriptive Guidance you will:

  • Work both independently and collaboratively with other members of the AWS Prescriptive Guidance team including the Senior Business Intelligence Engineer and Product Manager to deliver scalable BI solutions that drive AWS Prescriptive Guidance adoption.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert of AWS Prescriptive Guidance data, processes, and the business rules that define our datasets.
  • Design, create, and maintain dashboards using SQL and QuickSight.
  • Create reports and analyses based on requirements from an internal team of stakeholders as well as the larger AWS community.
  • Adopt best practices in BI and reporting in collaboration with Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer.

About The Team

The AWS Prescriptive Guidance team facilitates the creation and publishing of best practices and lessons learned from AWS Professional Services engagements as they help our customers achieve their cloud based business objectives. The AWS Prescriptive Guidance team, located within AWS ProServe, is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer with a combination of superior analytical abilities and strong business acumen to support the AWS Prescriptive Guidance team. Last but not least, you love building insightful reports and beautiful data visualizations, and want to automate everything you have built.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics or 6+ years of professional or military experience.
  • 3+ years experience with SQL with knowledge of CTEs, windowing, and creating data pipelines for visualizations.
  • 2+ years experience with a BI tool such as Tableau, PowerBI, Cognos, or QuickSight.
  • 2+ years of experience and in data visualization and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience a Engineering such as building data pipelines and ETL.
  • Experience in using data oriented programming languages such as R or Python.
  • Knowledge of product analytics.
  • Experience in solving complex, quantitative business challenges.
  • Experience in statistical analysis and/or building predictive models using regression, forecasting, and other statistical models.
  • Ability to work independently to understand, document and deliver BI projects in a timely manner.
