Context

Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent humanitarian organization providing medical aid to victims of man-made or natural disasters, epidemics and endemics. Its Operational Centre in Geneva is responsible for medical assistance programmes in 24 countries.

The MSF movement is structured around 5 operational centers supported by 24 partner sections and offices worldwide. The MSF operational center in Geneva is one of these centers. Together with regional entities (hubs), it coordinates medico-operations in more than 25 countries worldwide in 60 medical projects with more than 8000 employees (segmented into 550 international positions, 5500 national positions & 2000 staff under refugee or under incentive status.

The Abuse and Behaviour unit (ABU) is a Directorate General body in charge of prevention, detection and management of cases of abuse and inappropriate behaviour in OCG missions. The CRAC (Comité de Réponse aux Abus de Comportements), which members are MSF employees, is in charge of managing complaints.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure a proper intake, triage and management of complaints for abuse and inappropriate behaviour.
  • Lead internal administrative investigations on abuse and, inappropriate behaviour conducted by internal and external investigators.
  • Coach and guide the investigators during the different phases of the investigations according to standards and guidelines.
  • Improve the case management process.
  • Ensure compliance with the CRAC procedure .
  • Conduct investigations and initiates special studies; prepares and/or reviews reports.
  • Train and provide active support to staff managing situations of abuse and inappropriate behaviour to the MSF case management standards and principles.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the ABU coordinator when necessary.

Your Profile

Education

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a field relevant to this profile (e.g. law, social or organizational sciences, diversity and inclusion, whistleblowing, etc.).

Experience

  • 2 years of field experience in aid sector.
  • Proven track record in leading and conducting workplace administrative investigations in the Humanitarian sector.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and French
  • Other MSF mission languages are an asset.

Terms of Employment

  • Full-time position 100% (40h/week)
  • Working place: position can be based at OCG, but MSF Hosting office or Partner section closest the candidate’s residence can also be considered
  • Ideal start date: July 2022
  • Gross annual salary: according the salary grid of the MSF Hosting office or Partner section
  • The selection of the candidate will depend on local legal limitations (residency, work permit, etc.) and on the agreement with the MSF Hosting office or Partner section
