Age UK Blackburn with Darwen
1. Responsible for the day to day effective and efficient operation of the Befriending Services ensuring it is flexible and meets the needs of the service users, operating within Age UK Blackburn with Darwen’s policies and procedures including health & safety, financial and safeguarding
2. Working closely with the Integrated Services Manager to develop and extend the reach of the services to engage older people
3. Work with the Integrated Services Manager to recruit into a range of volunteer roles for the service
4. Manage, direct, motivate and monitor the volunteers and volunteer rotas within the service providing ongoing support, supervision and undertaking annual reviews and risk assessments
5. Adopt a strength-based approach to complete assessments and risk assessments of service users to ensure their eligibility to receive the service
6. Carefully match service users to volunteers within the project and manage these on an on-going basis
7. Monitor waiting lists for people wishing to access the service, maintaining regular contact with individual until they are in service
8. Maintain the administration of the service, ensuring that monitoring and evaluations systems, including capturing outcomes, for the service are maintained and that all paperwork is dealt with promptly and that accurate records are kept
9. Carry out regular user surveys and record/collate client feedback
10. Complete annual reviews of service users to ensure the service can continue to meet needs and refer to more appropriate support as required
11. Contribute to the production of accurate reports and monitoring statistics as required by the Integrated Services Manager, Head of Prevention & Wellbeing, Chief Executive, Board of Trustees, funders and others
12. Work within the Health & Wellbeing Team to deliver high quality services and activities which are focussed on prevention, self-care and resilience
