Minimum qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience with Lithium ion cell development.
  • Experience in internal battery cell design parameters and critical process parameters.
  • Experience in battery cell tests for validation of performance, reliability, and safety, along with battery test conditions/requirements.
  • Experience in electrochemistry and batteries.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using impedance meters and battery tester.
  • Experience with mini cell or small form factor Lithium ion cells for wearable devices.
  • Experience using and knowledge with Statistical Process Control tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of high power application.
  • Knowledge of protection circuit module and fuel gauge.

About The Job

In this role, you will be responsible for development of Lithium ion batteries for consumer electronics. You will develop the Lithium ion battery cell design based on the experience of MCO (Mechanical Control Outline), ERS (Engineering Requirements Specification), and DFM (Design For Manufacturability). You will drive DOE (design of experiment) to optimize the internal cell design parameters as well as the related critical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Define the engineering requirement for the battery based on the product definitions and requirements.
  • Optimize the internal battery cell design parameters and critical process parameters to satisfy the engineering requirement (e.g., capacity, electrical performance, reliability, safety, etc.).
  • Carry Design of Experiments (DOE) with vendors if there is any technical issue or shortcoming with the battery performance or reliability.
  • Validate the battery performance, reliability, and safety by the systematic testing.
  • Be responsible for presenting and communicating report issues and test results.
