Opportunity Stanislaus is helping VBC Bottling recruit a Batchroom Technician for 3rd shift.

Description: Operates mixing machines to blend ingredients into compounds for processing, loads ingredients into mixers, and weights and measures ingredients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures and always work as safely as possible.
  • Safely operate a forklift.
  • Properly complete blend sheet documentation.
  • Input new recipes, start, and stop the blending process and verify new recipes in Liquefier System.
  • Follow established blend procedure to include verifying formula at the control panel, comparing recipe and blending for correct quantities, performing RO water conductivity and TDS tests, mixing ingredients per instructions, gathering, and recording required information, sampling, and testing, and adding ingredients to premix tank.
  • Stage and verify ingredients for blending to include acquiring batch documentation, verifying batch documentation with the production schedule, identifying discrepancies in batch documentation, assembling ingredients using pick sheets and First Expired/First Out (FEFO), weighing ingredients, performing blend calculations including metric conversions, properly handling partial ingredients, verifying ingredients, and recording data.
  • CIP blend tanks to include properly completing documentation, preparing tanks, using correct wash, and performing pH testing.
  • Clean In Place (CIP) blend tanks
  • Understand and follow all spill policies and procedures.
  • Safely and efficiently operate foamer.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • During CIP of blend tanks, check that jumpers at Can/Bottle Panel are correct and properly place jumpers in position.
  • Prime, start, and input offset in Ratio Blender
  • Clean In Place (CIP) Ratio Blenders to include properly completing documentation, preparing ratio blender, using the correct wash, and performing pH testing.
  • During Clean in Place (CIP) of blend tanks, document caustic and acid strengths on a circular chart.
  • During Clean in Place (CIP) of blend tanks, test chemicals, and follow correction process if out of specifications.
  • Connect jumpers to correct positions during Clean in Place (CIP) of Ratio Blender.
  • Complete proper Clean in Place (CIP) setup of Ratio Blender.
  • Understand batch hold times and know how to plan when batching should occur.
  • Complete procedures to include performing pre-production sanitation, loading recipes, and operating skid.
  • Tear down and follow proper procedures to Clean in Place (CIP) and clean the system.
  • Perform Clean in Place (CIP) of sucrose tank to include tank setup, correct jumper placement, line setup, chemical testing, re-assembly, and completing proper documentation.
  • Load formulas into Excel.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the Liquefier system.
  • Strong ability to work unsupervised.
  • Understand and follow the ingredient hold process.
  • Troubleshoot Blender issues.
  • Clean In Place (CIP) RO Water Treatment System.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.)
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in math
  • Forklift certification is desirable

Language Skills: English is required.

Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to occasionally carry, push, and pull loads of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, reach, squat, and stretch
