An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Medicine Division at the Royal London Hospital as the Service Manager for Diabetes, Cardiology and Respiratory.
This Service Manager post is a key position within the Division’s management structure, responsible for providing day-to-day operational management and support across two broad services, alongside delivering and development improvement projects for patients and staff.
This is both a challenging and rewarding time to join Specialist Medicine, and this post is an opportunity to lead on service level projects, redesigning workflows and processes to support elective recovery, and solidifying the positive changes to our Outpatient programme brought about by COVID-19.
To deliver these changes, you will need experience of working within a multi-professional team and of working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders. You will need to have a strong commitment to improving services whilst remaining passionate about quality and safety. You will have a proven track record of successful operational management experience and will demonstrate a high standard of communication and organisational skills. There will be ample opportunities to assist with Division wide service improvement projects.
Above all, the post holder will show proficiency for working closely with clinical teams to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality care across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Key Aims Are
The Service Manager is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas.
Provide timely, efficient and effective operational service management support for a number of specialities within Specialist Medicine Services, assisting the Clinical Director, Lead Clinicians and General Manager to ensure that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards.
Take forward agreed projects to improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas.
Lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets are met.
Problem solve as appropriate, and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues. To be a key member of the CAG Tier 2 Management Team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times
