Interior Health is seeking a Permanent Full Time Attendance Promotion Analyst to join their team!

About The Job

The Attendance Promotion Analyst provides support and recommendations in the planning and implementation of Interior Health’s (IH) attendance promotion program to assist in reaching sick leave targets and promote related best practices. The Attendance Promotion Analyst is responsible for the monitoring and analysis of attendance metrics and reports, the identification of where to target efforts, and the coordination of program participants and performs strategic and operational analyses to make recommendations and proposals on attendance promotion. The analyses and advice may include the development or review of policies, procedures, reporting methods, business practices, and/or work processes. The Attendance Promotion Analyst coordinates technological support in partnership with IMIT.

Some Typical Duties

  • Reviews sick leave and overtime reports to identify employees to participate in the Attendance Promotion Program according to established guidelines.
  • Coordinates attendance meeting participants including Human Resources staff, management, employees, and the union as required.
  • Monitors the status of employees participating in the Attendance Promotion Program by running scheduled reports and following up with Managers. Tracks the progress of program participants and ensures timely follow-up with program stakeholders through the accurate maintenance of the attendance promotion database.
  • Responds to attendance promotion-related requests for specialized reports, data, documentation, and/or analyses.
  • Provides proactive support to the on-going development and updating of the Attendance Promotion Program and indicators; identifies potential HR issues; conducts issue analysis; and partners with IMIT to support the development of reports, processes, and statistical analyses to assist in improving compliance to the Program and meeting attendance targets.
  • Ensures that high quality HR and attendance promotion/management-related information is available for decision-making. Identifies metrics related to the Attendance Promotion Program for use in support of the development of an attendance culture. Works collaboratively with IMIT in the development or modification of systems reports to support the Program.
  • Supports the research, development, and implementation of attendance promotion-related proposals, briefing documents, presentations, reports, research, projects, statistical reporting, and analyses.
  • Provides support, input, and advice into the development of a model for sustaining the attendance promotion reporting and analyses.
  • Establishes and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with a wide variety of individuals and groups both within and external to the organization.
  • Works with Payroll to ensure accurate identification, monitoring, tracking, and categorization of absences related to specific employees to ensure compliance with collective agreements and attendance promotion/disability case management guidelines/processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Three years of Human Resources experience, including experience with attendance promotion, the development of metrics, statistical analysis, and Human Resources systems/applications.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of attendance promotion programs, practices, and related issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant collective agreements, legal and arbitral jurisprudence, and statutory requirements.
  • Strong decision-making, critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Innovative and results-oriented.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage concurrent projects.
  • Ability to function in both a long-term strategic perspective and short-term operational perspective.
  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Access, and Word.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR software and Payroll systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR functions and corresponding linkages between functions.
  • Ability to work effectively in both self-directed and team environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
