Responsible to: Assistant Principal and Principal
Purpose: Promote excellent attendance of students and ensure systems for safety
and safeguarding are fully maintained.
To provide a central point of contact and administration function for teaching/pastoral staff, parent/carers and external agencies re tracking
of attendance and punctuality.
Hours : 37 hours per week, term time. (8.00-4.00 p.m. & 8.00-3.30pm)
Main Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure the proper administration of the school’s legal registers is upheld across the school twice daily.
Monitor sixth form registration and produce attendance data for the Sixth Form including lates and attendance to lessons, Liaise with Head of Sixth form and parents weekly.
Maintain accurate data for students attending alternative provision including daily checks and keep SLT, HOY and parents informed of findings
Produce returns for LA and DFE by required deadlines.
Produce and distribute weekly attendance figures for the whole school listing all students below 95%.
Meet with Education Welfare Officer (EWO), Head of Year and Assistant Principal weekly to discuss attendance strategies including prosecutions re persistent absentees and PP students. Prepare all paperwork for prosecutions.
Child protection administration as required including safeguarding work re students transferring to other schools and other countries.
Prepare attendance reports and other pertinent information reports for PSP/Review Meetings and attend these meetings as requested.
Make daily telephone calls and texts to parents of students identified by Head of Year, produce log reports on these calls.
Update school systems
Produce attendance graphs termly showing year trends and pupil comparison and produce reports as requested for SLT use.
Produce monthly lates reports for tutors and Head of Years.
Promote and instigate attendance rewards across the school.
Meet late students daily and talk to them about reasons for lateness.
To Liaise with the Principal re updating of the Attendance Policy.
Monitor the accuracy of G4S and liaise with staff and SLT on re-codings.
Attend Network Meetings and keep up to date with developments.
Deputise at the Fire Evacuation as required
Any other job as directed by SLT and deemed necessary to ensure the efficient running of the school.
Undertake First Aid duties (training will be given)

The post holder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the school and disseminate as required
Expenses will be paid in accordance with the CMAT policy

The post holder will respect confidentiality issues linked to home/student/teacher/school work and to keep confidentiality as appropriate
As a member of staff working in a school setting the post holder will have a duty to help keep young people safe and to protect them from sexual, physical and emotional harm and to take reasonable steps to ensure the safety and well-being of students
The post holder will ensure awareness of and compliance with personal responsibilities and requirements communicated by school policies and procedures including Health and Safety
The post holder will be required to undertake general administrative tasks as required
Subject to the duration of the need and by negotiation, the special conditions given below apply:
The post holder may be required to be an appointed person for first aid and medical duties
It is vital to the ethos of the Support Team that the post holder is flexible in taking on additional tasks, willing to offer help to, and cover for, other members of the Team, and treats co-operation and support for colleagues as a top priority.
