Ambulatory Care Services has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Vice President of Ambulatory Services in Miami. The incumbent in this position serves as the lead administrator for a large multi-specialty ambulatory facility and oversees the administrative and operational support of the site/location. This role has accountability for outpatient services of a facility which may include a combination of multi-specialty outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers. imaging centers and other ancillary services. Key duties of this role include support and alignment of UHealth ambulatory operations goals through the creation of facility-specific strategies and objectives such as development and maintenance of policies and procedures to support the functional infrastructure, providing a superior patient, clinician, and staff experience, monitoring in-house clinical and administrative services, and ensuring optimal financial performance via the development and management of the site’s budget.

Plans and oversees the execution and activation of high complex multi-specialty ambulatory sites to include ASC with a keen focus on the development of relationships within the community to enhance the UHealth enterprise brand with the ultimate goal of providing an unparalleled patient experience. Drives the strategic, programmatic, and operational planning process for the site to support UHealth’s strategic and ambulatory care plan, in consultation with executive leadership, subordinates, and other relevant stakeholders. Develops site’s operational plans and systems, as well as effective and efficient organizational structures that result in optimal service delivery and achievement of identified strategies. Overseas the recruitment, onboarding, training, staff accountability, and recognition with a goal of providing a utopian patient experience. Management of site’s multimillion dollar budget, including volume projections, budget development and financial performance in accordance with budget. Maintains and updates key metrics for leadership review. Develops and ensures implementation of the site’s systems and processes to ensure information flow and standardization within Ambulatory Services. Prioritizes, proposes, and oversees site’s operational initiatives and system changes based on analysis of current processes and organizational goals. Evaluates the effectiveness of and monitors the implementation and enforcement of policies, best practices, and procedures to maximize customer and patient experience, efficiency, and effectiveness while surpassing identified standards and benchmarks. Leads and manages activation, to include maintenance of a master plan for the ambulatory care facility. Oversees the assignment of space for clinical operations and the allocation and utilization of available space for the site.

Operationalizes all ambulatory care space within the site and works with ambulatory and clinical leadership to re-deploy newly available ambulatory care space. Identifies, recommends, and implements staffing and access plans, equipment, and other capital for the ambulatory location. Ensures efficient clinical space and staffing utilization at the site, working with ambulatory and clinical leadership to ensure exam/OR time is maximized. Motivates, mentors, and directs subordinate staff members. Holds self and staff accountable to meet stated objectives, outcomes, goals, timetables, and commitments. Identifies and measures the site’s operational performance against best practice quality standards to ensure that standards are met or exceeded. Maintains working knowledge of applicable National, State and local laws, TJC, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements, and monitors controls.
