The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking an Associate, Enhancing Access to Safe and Nutritious Diets (ENSAND) to support the implementation of specific project activities including capacity building, partnerships management and reporting. This position will be based in Kaduna, Nigeria.

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and programme lead for ENSAND, the Associate will assist in the implementation of specific project activities such as capacity building, partnerships management and reporting. They will also support the management of consultants who will be recruited to deliver specialized elements of the project output/deliverable.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Managing implementation of Abuja component of ENSAND project activities and reporting on project deliverables
  • Supporting and managing the recruitment of the project consultants to track the delivery of contractual outputs in a timely manner.
  • Supporting project partner’s capacity building plans by tracking processes and timely closure of all technical organizational development gaps identified and prioritized.
  • Supporting the implementation of risk mitigation plans as required.
  • Supporting timely flow of project-related information between project partners, ENSAND core team and key project partners.

About You

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated programme/project management experience with focus on nutrition, food system, public health, agro-enterprise interventions with an international development agency in Nigeria. Proven experience in negotiating and managing vendors/ contractors and knowledge of Poultry value chain, Agricultural and or any other food value chain in Nigeria

The postholder should be highly organized and detailed-oriented with strong communication and advocacy skills in multicultural, multi-lingual environment. Flexibility to travel to challenging environments and proficiency in MS Office is also essential.

About our Offer

The starting salary on offer for this role is from NGN 6,100,478 – NGN 6,966,279 per annum, depending on experience.

GAIN has a fair and competitive salary structure that allows for annual progression subject to good performance.
