Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Support & Engagement is responsible for oversight of all live and community-based support programs across the Foundation. The Associate Director works closely with the Vice President, Education & Community Engagement to ensure strategic alignment with program goals and Foundation policy. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with staff and key stakeholders to ensure implementation of activities aligned with the Foundation’s strategic plan.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Conducts routine assessment of need for optimal programs at the local level to provide support and build community for IBD patients and caregivers
- Makes recommendations and implements new support program formats aligned with current best practices and Foundation needs
- Oversees policies and procedures of community-based support programs
- Partners with staff and key volunteers to review policies and revise to ensure best practices and consistent operations across all support programs
- Works with leadership volunteers and staff to identify, recruit and engage volunteers who have potential to make an impact
- Collaborates with other key support areas within Community Engagement and ESA to ensure complementary efforts and continuity of support services (e.g. collaborates with Directors of Education, D&I, Camp Oasis, and Mission Volunteers)
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to expand diversity & inclusion initiatives for community-based support programs
- Collaborates with marketing team to expand constituent awareness of support services
- Collaborates with Business Development, Advancement, and other Foundation staff
- Works with key staff and volunteers to track program engagement, measure program impact, provide tools and resources to volunteers, and to provide engagement and collaboration opportunities for volunteers
- Oversees budget for community-based support programs
- Partners with and supports volunteer committees to drive success in campaigns and grow support for the Foundation’s mission

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, or health-related discipline required.
- MSW/MPH Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in program development preferably within a health-related
- organization, not-for-profit experience a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in supervision of teams, with experience managing remote employees preferred.
- Applicable skills in planning and budgeting, project management, volunteer
- Development and supervision.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with strong organization skills.
- An effective written and verbal communicator.
- Able to multitask.
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database applications preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends).
