Associate Director of Finance – Finance Operations

As UAL embarks on its new mission it is vital the University is economically successful. To ensure this the finance function will be developing and delivering a new strategy. Already this has led to several promotions and newly created posts, presenting career defining and highly stimulating opportunities within an environment that is diverse, collaborative, and inspiring.

We are seeking two Associate Directors of Finance: Financial Performance Reporting & Analysis and Finance Operations. Both posts will support the Director of Finance in the development and delivery of the new financial strategy and to be active members of the finance department’s senior leadership team, building the capability of the function to deliver an outstanding customer service and student experience.

As Associate Director of Finance – Finance Operations, you will be a driver for change and will work collaboratively with key stakeholders, recognising the importance of clear guidance, communication, and the benefits of continuously improving systems to support effective delivery. Specifically, you will drive the development and implementation of the University’s payment acceptance strategy to deliver payment platforms and related systems that are secure, provide an excellent customer experience, meet diverse payment expectations, and deliver value for money. You will also ensure robust systems are in place to manage the risks associated with income management, i.e., ensuring that the University’s debtors are managed and controlled and that strategies are in place that support recovery.

Your profile

Our finance professionals bring with them a diverse range of skills and experience from a variety of professional sectors. We welcome qualified accountants with experience of working in large complex organisations. This may already be within Higher Education or further afield where multiple stakeholder accountability can be demonstrated.

Key to this role will be your experience of managing the specification and development of information systems to support financial functions. You will be a proven leader with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with a track record in developing, implementing and evaluating business and strategic plans.
