Job Background/Overview:

Since its inception in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. This role is part of the Global Corporate Partnerships team, which leads on the IRC’s engagement with corporations and corporate foundations across key global sectors such as financial services, healthcare, consumer goods, technology and gaming, and we seek to expand our footprint in a wider range of corporate partners and partnerships.

The ideal candidate is a global relationship and/or sales manager, with a track record of personally prospecting, cultivating, and closing 6-figure corporate partnerships in support of humanitarian and development work. They will have experience establishing comprehensive, 360-degree corporate partnerships (ideally with proven knowledge and success across modalities inclusive of grants, cause marketing, in-kind, employee engagement, workplace giving, operational partnerships). They will also demonstrate passion for the IRC’s mission, nuanced understanding of private sector fundraising, and dedication to the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion values.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Implements the new business vision and targets for Global Corporate Partnerships team, across a set of sectors, in close collaboration with the other members of the New Business pillar, as well as Account Management.
  • Works with relevant teams and support functions to identify and connect with prospective corporate donors, building tailored strategies for each.
  • Proactively contacts corporate prospects and establishes initial relationships on behalf of the IRC.
  • Reactively fields incoming requests from corporate prospects on behalf of the IRC and categorizes them across sectors, return on investment and capacity.
  • Personally cultivates and solicits high-level, high-impact partnerships, with the aim of transitioning these partnerships to long-term relationships with the IRC under the Account Management team.
  • Remains up to date with the latest trends on global partnership management across industries and sectors.
  • Provides dynamic and effective thought leadership towards increased financial and non-financial engagement with business, inclusive of operational partnerships, cause-related marketing, gifts-in-kind, employee engagement, advocacy, and thought leadership.
  • Act as an inspiring leader within International Philanthropy & Partnerships (IPP)-teaming up with fellow IPP ADs and Directors, in maintaining, encouraging and developing an outstanding global fundraising team to support the IRC’s income aspirations.
  • Support the team’s and organization’s DEI efforts through development of multi-faceted partnerships that benefit clients with varying backgrounds.
  • Collaborate on the conceptualization, development and implementation of standards, tools and procedures towards an outstanding approach to international private sector engagement and fundraising.
  • Collaborate across other External Relations teams on initiatives that span departments to include but not be limited to our joint dedication to a diverse, positive and inclusive work environment.

Essential Qualifications:

Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, or 8 years relevant equivalent experience;
  • Extensive experience of corporate partnership fundraising, ideally within a large or medium charity, including a proven track record of both developing high level corporate partnerships to mutual benefit, and securing new partnerships.
  • Experience of line management, recruitment, performance management and talent retention.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Driven, motivated and proactive with a solutions-based attitude and resilient in the face of setbacks.
  • Proven ability to manage, meet and monitor fundraising budgets and Key Performance Indicators***.***
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially the ability to manage a complex, varied and substantial workload.
  • Proficient networker with ability to represent the organisation at a senior level and respond to the requirements of high-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and a polished public speaker with the confidence and ability to convey complex ideas in a compelling manner to win support internally in IRC and externally with high-level corporate partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written English and the ability to produce well designed and high quality proposals and reports.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a centralised, international organisation would be a strong advantage.
  • Experience using Salesforce would be an advantage.
  • Additional languages a plus

Working Environment:**

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
