Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 4 Years, Los Angeles office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an associate attorney with 4-5 years of securities/FINRA experience for a varied caseload. The candidate will assist in the representation of clients in legal proceedings, research and preparation of legal documents and pleadings, handling discovery, and assisting partners/clients in legal transactions. Efficient management of multiple cases. Timely preparation of pleadings, motions, and discovery to opposing parties. Participate in mediations, hearings, and depositions as required. Client interaction and problem resolution as it relates to cases. Integration of best practices and standards in handling clients and their cases. Evaluation of findings and development of strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. On-time completion of reports/projects in adherence to partner and client needs/guidelines. Accurate and timely recording of billable hours in adherence to client guidelines and Firm policy. Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures is required. Thorough knowledge of legal procedures and current developments is needed. Must have a working knowledge of computers, along with the ability to maintain, update and modify documents. Possess relevant technology competencies such as LexisNexis and time-billing software. Must have California Bar Association admission. This law firm offers litigation services to insurance companies and financial institutions. Their areas of practice include cyber law, environment law, labor and employment, professional liability litigation, securities litigation, surety, directors and officers, reinsurance, and intellectual property. Their offices are located in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, and California.Additional Skills: The candidate should have the ability to comprehend complex matters, identify and articulate core issues, and understand applicable legal principles. Must have proven time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize issues and tasks. Possess a keen eye for detail, coupled with exceptional research and proofreading abilities. The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, is required. Should have effective written and oral communication skills. Must have strong research and legal writing skills. J.D. from an accredited ABA law school is required.
