JOB SUMMARY: The Associate Specialist, RD – Strategic Partnerships and Emergency Response will serve as an important focal point for the RD team with the Emergency Response Unit, generating information, content and materials to support fundraising efforts in connection with natural and manmade disasters. This individual will support the RD team, as they identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual, foundation and corporate donors and prospects. This position will support senior staff with project management, editing and document preparation for proposals and reports, correspondence and communication for donors and prospects, presentations and other materials that communicate International Medical Corps’ expertise and programmatic strengths. Finally, the Associate supports International Medical Corps’ executive and senior staff in the preparation for external meetings. This position will be based at one of International Medical Corps’ headquarters locations.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Builds and maintains the knowledge needed to help prepare donor communication materials, including letters of inquiry, concept notes, proposals, presentations, updates, emails and more. • Serve as an RD focal point with the Emergency Response Unit, actively participating in calls and other internal working groups as needed or assigned. • Support the development of proposals and reports, including writing, editing and formatting; work to predict and prevent unnecessary bottlenecks in proposal and report development by staying abreast of all proposal components; communicate challenges as they arise; and identify and implement solutions as needed. • Accurately maintain internal records of pending funding opportunities, concept notes, proposals, reports, communications and more – following up with relevant stakeholders to ensure all deadlines are met in a timely manner. • Develop new and/or improve administrative tools and resources as needed or assigned. • Assists with ensuring compliance with all operational and donor policies and regulations. • In conjunction with the senior Institutional Advancement and other key staff, participates in the development of pitch materials and talking points for private donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. • Conducts research of prospective donors for outreach and communications as requested.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Typically, a Bachelor’s degree in a related area. Advanced degree desirable. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. • Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience in an administrative position. • Demonstrated skill in coordinating, facilitating and managing complex processes with diverse team members • Experience with an international health or humanitarian organization, or related background desirable • Demonstrated strategic thinking, creativity, problem-solving ability, and analytical skills • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills • Fluency in written and spoken English essential
