The Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is seeking applicants for the following position located at Baghdad-Iraq.

Position: Assistant Pharmacist

Reports to: Center Manager, Head of Trauma Care and Health, Monitoring/Evaluation Department

Starting date: As soon as possible.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Ensures quality of medicines supplied to patients;
  • Ensures that supply of medicines is within the law;
  • Ensures that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable;
  • Advises patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients’ questions;
  • Supervises the medicines supply chain and ensures pharmacy premises and systems are fit for purpose;
  • Supervises production and preparation of medicines and assessments of quality of medicines before they are supplied to patients from pharmaceutical manufacturers;
  • Makes purchases of drugs and other things related to the work of the organization and bring invoices;
  • Checks medication for expiry and ensures purchased medication has an expiry date of at least one year;
  • Responsibility for incoming and outgoing medication.

 Coordination

  • Cooperation with other staff members, centers, and external partners;
  • Cooperation with physicians and psychiatrists;
  • Regularly participates in meetings with other staff across centers.

 Representation and networking

  • Represents Jiyan Foundation to external stakeholders and participates in meetings or events related to medical services;
  • Continuously works on building and maintaining networks with other local organizations, partners, and stakeholders for collaboration and referrals.

Carry out any other relevant duties according to the professional capacities and position in the organization as assigned by the line manager in mutual agreement.


Qualifications & Preferred Skills

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor degree (or higher) in Pharmacy;
  2. Work experience in related filed (desired);
  3. Basic knowledge in MS Office and data entry;
  4. Ability to travel, including multi-day trips both nationally and internationally;
  5. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team, cooperation with other staff members, centers and external partners;
  6. Active interest in promoting human rights and social justice.

PERKS AND BENEFITS
