The regional transport market in the UK is rapidly becoming more and more vital to UK Plc. We are building presence and activity in our regional transport business to support the growth of investment in transport and infrastructure from government and private sector. Your role

You will perform an Assistant Manager/Manager role in our business, which will involve leading small project teams, preparing advice for clients with support from senior leadership and supporting on business development within the regional transport sector.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Helping clients to make informed evidenced-based decisions through options appraisals
  • Preparing advice such as business cases and facilitating discussions and meetings with clients
  • Managing small diverse teams on transport advisory projects
  • Supporting learning and development of team members
  • Performing account management roles for key clients
  • Supporting thought leadership and market analysis within the regional transport sector to support our business growth

Location: You will be based at our Leeds or Manchester office, but will be regularly working from home.

Your professional experience

  • Experience of working on regional transport projects or with transport clients – whether from an advisory, service delivery or technical perspective
  • Ability to think strategically, interacting with senior clients to communicate technical concepts in a compelling way.
  • Teamworking is essential, and ideally you will have experience of managing small workstreams, coaching and development
  • Project management skills with the ability to forecast costs and manage to timelines and budget

Desirable

  • Understanding of the HM Treasury Green Book and Better Business Cases methodology
  • Experience of working in the transport or government sectors

Personal independence
