The Debt & Capital Advisory (“DCA”) team is an integral part of Deloitte’s Financial Advisory practice, providing independent advice and world class execution across the full spectrum of debt markets through the Firm’s global network. Deloitte’s DCA team comprises 250 debt professionals globally, with ~100 within the UK, making them one of the largest teams operating in the UK and almost certainly the largest globally.

In any given year, in the UK Deloitte Debt Advisory close circa. 100 transactions, roughly two thirds of which are for private equity backed businesses The business has grown at roughly 20% per year every year since inception twelve years ago, and has maintained the original ‘start-up’ mentality throughout that period.

The Infrastructure DCA team, set up in 2019, is now firmly established in the market having advised on a broad range of deals in the energy, energy transition, digital and transport sectors, amongst others. The team’s remit is broad and has closed deals on a pan-European basis covering both debt and equity raises and in the support of M&A acquisition processes for our client base.

The Infrastructure DCA team continues to expand and we are keen to speak to talented, ambitious individuals with relevant financial experience and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Your role

Your role within this growing team will be to assist our infrastructure and real asset clients achieve their capital raise objectives which will incorporate a wide range of engagements including advice on optimal capital structures, business strategy, negotiating new money project financings, acquisitions, refinancing and restructuring existing debt facilities.

As an Assistant Manager in DCA you will be:

  • Working on a range of capital advisory projects within the infrastructure and real assets space, providing support to team leaders but also having regular interaction with clients, banks, institutional investors, advisors (legal and due diligence) and other service lines (tax, accounting and due diligence)
  • Providing day to day transaction execution support, including the preparation of information packs, management presentations, financial analysis and client communications
  • Taking responsibility for transaction administration including provision of oversight for securing all necessary internal approvals
  • Industry/company research for both deal origination and transaction analysis
  • Financial modelling, including analysing business forecasts, evaluating scenario analysis and covenant calculations
  • Contribution to marketing and business development activities

Your professional experience

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience with Financial Modelling (desirable)
  • Exceptional Excel skills (necessary)
  • Infrastructure or Structured finance skills (desirable)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to undertaken research tasks independently
  • Fluency in written and oral English, strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently to generate output for presentations and client reports
  • General understanding of debt structures and products (desirable)
  • Commercial awareness/experience of the infrastructure sector and infrastructure financing products (desirable)
