Leading Construction Company based near Woodstock, Ga has a need for an experienced Accountant to join their corporate Accounting team in this new growth related role. Rare opportunity to join a company with strong employee tenure where you can be for a long time to come.

Key Responsibilities: To work with the Controller and the Land Capitalization Manager to promote the efficient and effective transaction of land development and to ensure that all land company financials are constantly updated and appropriately presented; work with Controller on general accounting operations, verifying financial transactions, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and assisting with month-end close procedures; combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

  • Complete special projects and repetitive accounting and accounting-related processes for the land and building companies.
  • Assist Controller and Land Capitalization Manager in managing all financials for land and building companies.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting system for land company accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoice entry into company accounting system.
  • Review invoice approval and coding from all departments to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Ensure expense reports and invoices have proper receipts according to Company requirements.
  • Process all check requests and invoice payments for all companies and work with AP manager to ensure payments are made when scheduled.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all vendors and in a timely, and professional manner, resolve all concerns and discrepancies in credit or payments of invoices.
  • Prepare the company for the annual workers comp and liability insurance audits.
  • Assist the Controller as needed to prepare for the annual CPA audit.
  • Manage annual city and county property tax bills and ensure all payments are made on time for all properties.
  • Assist AP Manager in reviewing annual business license requirements for all vendors and prepare annual business license renewal.
  • Assist AP Manager in reconciling, preparing and distributing 1099’s and file government agency report for all companies.
  • Work with AP Manager to set up new companies in the Company accounting software system as directed by the Controller.
  • Secure up-to-date Certificates of Insurance (COI) from all non-PO Trades/Vendors/Subcontractors.
  • Organize and ensure maintenance of an accurate filing system of readily accessible information to include updating computer records and physical files.
  • Preserve highest quality in all work produced by maximizing resources, maintaining accuracy, and increasing efficiency.
  • Perform all job duties with a strong sense of urgency to meet time, quality and budget targets.
  • Keep clear channels of communication open with fellow co-workers, leadership team, and vendors in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Ensure all company and employee decisions are made from a point of objective analysis of situations in question.
