The role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. It’s an all rounder position managing our AR/AP and supporting certain month end duties.

You will be required to;

  • Manage all our accounts payable and receivable processing, a high attention to detail required to manage the bulk volumes of regular invoicing payments.
  • Process bank reconciliations for all bank accounts on a daily basis
  • Contribute to maintaining efficient system processes and manage all finance inboxes
  • Extract staff cash reimbursements to support fortnightly payroll
  • Complete balance sheet recs on a monthly basis and reconciling items at month end
  • Support the Project Accountant at month end with forecasting uploading,
  • Assist the wider finance team with manual journals, reconciliations, pre payments and other adhoc duties
  • Build relationships with our various business units to understand their diverse finance requirements.

About you

  • Extensive experience in the Accounts Payable/Receivable function
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with various different stakeholders
  • Strong ownership skills, ability to get the work done with limited supervision
  • Experience with communicating to non-financial people of all levels
  • Keen eye for detail, especially when working in a high volume environment
  • Passion and pride in your work with the ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Experience in Atlas, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Xero, highly desirable
  • Qualification in accounting.
