Vacancy for – M1 Warehouse First Line Manager, Multiple Roles – Asda Doncaster Contract

Main Responsibilities

Managing an operational section ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the Warehousing function through the efforts of a well managed and engaged workforce; to achieve targets within time and budgeting constraints; to promote the Company standard and all its constituent parts. Reporting to the Operations manager, responsibilities include:

• Be conversant with performance and operational targets for each shift
• Achieve cost and performance requirements
• Ensure a clear operational plan is communicated so that all employees are clear about their expected targets.
• Ensure that the workforce is competent, motivated, engaged and focused and that they perform effectively at all times
• Ensure training and development needs are identified and dealt with effectively
• Establish priorities and communicate them effectively.
• Identify, evaluate, address and communicate, potential problems and risks
• Continuously monitor performance and refresh plans accordingly
• Maintain day to day employee, trade union and customer relationships
• Be visible, available and lead by example.

Skills & Experience

• Successful record of delivering results against service-related KPI’s
• Previous supervisory experience gained within a fast-moving target-driven environment would be advantageous.
• Flexibility regarding shifts – days/Afters/nights including weekend working on rotational shifts, Any 5 over 7 shifts
• PC literate
• Previous experience of working within a unionised environment
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff & management
