A day in the life of an Area Coordinator:
At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.
In the role of Area Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
- Provide overall leadership for all Samaritan’s Purse personnel in the area office and bases.
- Work with Country Director (CD), coordinate all programs and support-related personnel in the assigned geographic area.
- In coordination with the Senior Operations Manager (SOM), provide broad oversight for all operational aspects in support of ongoing projects.
- Represent Samaritan’s Purse in community relations and cultivate productive relationships through networking with government, local churches, UN, and other NGOs.
- All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) from 4-year college or university in Development, Social Studies, or other relevant discipline and at least four (4) years of related international work experience with management responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Spiritual maturity; ability to lead direct reports in their growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office.
- General knowledge of Food, Nutrition, WASH, Health, Shelter, and Non-Food Items program implementation.
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills
- 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.

Travel Expectations: Required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
