The role
In line with the creation of our new Sales Area Southeast Asia (SEA), Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is currently seeking an Application Specialist – Rock Tools in SEA.
As an Application Specialist, you will be responsible to fulfill and deliver expertise in rock tools and application solutions to customers. You are an important member in the rock tools activity plans for the Sales Area and will be required to collaborate with the Tools Sales and Support Representatives (TSSR), Sales Personnel and respective Product Areas to support the growth of the rock tools products in the Sales Area SEA Territories to maximize and extend business opportunities.
Sales Area Southeast Asia consists of the following Territories:
- Mongolia
- Philippines & Indochina
- Japan
- Korea, Republic of
- Indonesia
- Freeport
- Singapore
The role is product focused and concentrates on providing product and application knowledge for the rock tools product range. To succeed in this role, you are expected to:
- Ensure Sandvik rock tools products are correctly implemented and deployed.
- Provide field technical support to internal rock tools teams and external customers.
- Assist R&D and Product Areas in product quality improvements and development.
- Ensure successful field testing of Sandvik’s rock tools products.
- Conduct training to internal and external stakeholders on product knowledge and application, including product servicing.
- Assist in successful implementation of projects and contracts and ensuring competitor conversions are minimized.
- Enable customers to recognize the value of utilizing Sandvik rock drilling tools and technology.
- Support the Business Line Manager, TSSRs, Sales and Account Managers in technical presentations and customer interactions to ensure suitable business opportunities and solutions are identified and secured for Sandvik Rock Tools.
- Participate in rock tools contract performance reviews with key customers as part of customer and rock tools team support.
This role is a full-time requirement and the location is flexible within the Sales Area SEA Territories. Travelling within the Sales Area, up to 50% of your time, is an essential part of the job.
Your profile
You will bring a sound understanding of the mining and construction equipment, backed with strong operational and applications knowledge of Sandvik rock drilling tools and technology. Your experience and knowledge will be supported with a tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Mining engineering, and as we work in a global setting, you have excellent skills in English, both verbal and written. You are an effective communicator and able to network well with stakeholders of different cultural background and values.
