Position Summary:

The Analytics and Research Services Associate will be a key member of the Analytics and Research Services (ARS) Team by:

  • Facilitating workflow and operations of the guideline enterprise.
  • Assisting the Senior Methodologist and team by undertaking study screening, abstracting (includes data entry), and verifying results as part of systematic reviews for the development of clinical practice parameters. Work position may include assessing risk of bias and critical appraisal of selected studies.
  • Providing analytic support to the Analytics and Research Services Director and Manager.
  • Providing administrative support to the department, as needed.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

·        Work with Methodologist team by:

o   Maintaining well-organized current and archived documents used in guideline development to facilitate reproducibility.

o   Providing support for conflict-of-interest completion, tracking, and record keeping.

o   Screening study titles and abstracts and deciding whether inclusion criteria are met.

o   Reviewing study publications and deciding whether inclusion criteria are met.

o   Abstracting data and entering into a dedicated database.

·        Work with ARS Director and Manager by:

o   Providing support for ARS projects and, as appropriate, working directly with subject matter experts, key internal and external committees, and outside organizations.

o   Assisting in analyzing information and data to support advocacy efforts related to anesthesiology payment, anesthesia workforce, and anesthesia quality/outcomes.

o   Helping to draft manuscripts, white papers, Power Point presentations and other documents associated with assigned projects.

·        Scheduling meetings and providing administrative support as needed.

Position Qualifications:

·        Master’s in public health, health policy research, or related field preferred.

·        Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, and familiarity with (or willingness to learn) reference management systems (e.g., EndNote).

·        Strong critical thinking and ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of data to summarize and communicate relevant information.

·        Strong project management skills with ability to manage subject matter experts, handle multiple tasks, determine priorities, and meet deadlines.
