Agribusiness and Marketing Officer (Only South Sudanese national to apply) (03 posts)

The post holder(s) will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of the BMZ resilience project activities in Torit, Magwi, and Budi in line with the project implementation plans and SCI program quality benchmarks. In particular, the incumbent(s) will be responsible for the establishment, needs, and capacity assessment of various livelihoods and business groups in the target areas and providing tailored technical guidance and training support to enhance their capacities in various aspects of entrepreneurship and business development. She/e will guide the groups in the development of their livelihood business plans based on the identified local market potentials and opportunities, and develop the vital linkages between the established business groups and local microfinance institutions such as the Village Saving and Loans Associations and cooperatives to facilitate groups’ access to credit and loans to invest in their businesses development. He/she will work closely with the Community Development Mobilisers or officers in community mobilization and sensitization, beneficiary identification and registration, planning of inputs distribution, and field-level coordination and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree, Diploma or equivalent in Agribusiness, Agriculture and rural development, Food Security, Microfinance, and business administration.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • At least three years of working experience in the agriculture sector or FSL either with local or international NGOs or government
  • Experience in implementation of integrated FSL and CVA interventions within any emergency and development context and have better practical experience and working knowledge of community-level microfinance and agribusiness development.
  • In-depth understanding of project cycle management, with particular experience in participatory planning, implementation, and results-based monitoring of project activities.
  • Motivated self-starter, able to carry out work independently but also coordinate effectively as part of a team;
  • Proven skills in managing changes, achieving results, ensuring quality, team building, and capacity building.
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure as part of a professional team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity, assertiveness, and negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills;
  • Good spoken and written fluency in English and computer literacy (MS Office and email/internet);
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Familiar with local context in the proposed location and can effectively navigate challenges in this location.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the area, socio-culture, and local language where the post is located as an added advantage
  • Practical experience in the implementation of community-based microfinance, agribusiness development, and cash-based assistance

Contract Duration: I year with the possibility of extension

Location: Torit, Magwi, and Budi /Eastern Equatoria South Sudan
