Main Responsibility

The Agency Managed Team in Temporary and Supported Housing work in partnership with 29 specialist partners which we refer to as Managing Agents. These Agents provide on our behalf a range of supported housing to residents who need support as a result of being homeless, suffering mental health, are fleeing domestic violence and a range of other reasons.

As an Agency Contracts Officer you will:

  • Oversee and manage NHG’s partnership with a selection of our Agents.
  • Your priority will be to ensure that our partners are delivering the high standards of housing services that NHG expect whilst also:
  • Ensuring that NHG delivers a good quality repairs service and that we are providing good quality safe housing.
  • You will utilise your skills in contract management and build excellent relationships with our Agents, Local Authority Commissioners and internal departments to ensure the best outcomes for our customers.

Following successfully passing probation, there is opportunity to progress to a Level 2 position within this role which offers a salary of £38,658 – £42,953 (FTE).

You will use your expertise in housing management, contract management and people skills to ensure our customers are living in good quality homes. You will work with our Managing Agent partners to deliver excellent housing services on our behalf. You will be able to demonstrate or be willing to develop the following skills/experience:

  • knowledge of the supported housing sector and housing management processes at a large Housing Association/Registered Provider.
  • An understanding of what excellent Housing Management looks like both in terms of policy/procedure and in practice.
  • A strong understanding of management agreements and experience of using them either as the landlord or Managing Agent.
  • An understanding of customer needs in supported housing and the impacts on housing management.
  • Experience of managing conflict between stakeholders
  • Building professional relationships both internally and with External Stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Able to work flexibly, managing deadlines and competing priorities.

Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.
