Type of Contract: 3 months fixed-term contract, possibility of extension.

Salary: Band B1 (£29,844)

About the Role:

Internews is hiring immediately for an Afghan Response Associate to help support our crisis teams. This highly motivated individual will respond to queries coming to a dedicated Afghan response email inbox, document requests for assistance, and source information as needed to respond efficiently and compassionately to these requests. Reporting directly to the Afghan Response Coordinator within the Internews Europe’s CEO’s office, this individual will be part of a fast-moving global team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Document and respond to requests for evacuation and other assistance.
  • Liaise with People and Culture (HR) and other teams as required for vetting and verification.
  • Submit information to relevant authorities.
  • Respond to queries in a timely and sensitive manner.
  • Keep the resettlement program database updated.
  • Collect data from Internews staff and partners
  • Enter the data to the data base.

Essential qualifications

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure role.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Prior knowledge of refugee resettlement programs.
  • Ability to work with speed but also compassion.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost discretion.
  • Ability to work in virtual, international teams.
  • Pashto/Dari language proficiency.
  • Ability to use the latest technology for office administration.
  • Previous experience in program/administrative roles with International NGOs.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work.
  • Ability to flag urgent queries to the relevant team.
  • Strong awareness of the Afghan culture and context.
