The Opportunity

The Communications and Campaigns Coordinator, working closely with the Advocacy, Communications and Media Director and ACCM Manager, will collaborate and lead with program teams in the implementation of communications, advocacy and campaign activities and strategies, media engagement plans, digital and social media, visibility and communications plans and to enhance Save the Children’s brand. The post has both an internal and external orientation. The post holder will work to ensure compliance with donor requirements on campaign and advocacy initiatives.

The post holder will carry out his/her responsibilities in line with Save the Children’s vision, Country Strategic Plan, the ACCM strategy, and the principle of Child Rights Programming.

In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Development, Journalism, or other relevant fields;
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in undertaking advocacy, media, and communication initiatives in humanitarian and development contexts;
  • Strong background in implementing advocacy and campaigns activities, including on-the-ground activation, project coordination, and experience in overseeing budgets and financial management;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English, and the ability to produce error-free documents and information for a variety of audiences;
  • Proven experience in analysing the situation of children using the child rights programming and principles framework;
  • Demonstrated ability to offer creative practical and effective solutions;
  • Strong inter-organizational skills such as networking and negotiation;
  • Availability to travel regularly to field offices to support field teams as security permits.
  • Strong computer skills in Office Suite;
  • High attention to detail and ability to take initiative, and work independently in the context of a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment.

Desirable

  • Post graduate degree in communications and media will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize complex information in a concise manner;
  • Good interpersonal communication, planning, and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to liaise with a diverse range of people and stakeholders;
  • Ability to work in a diverse team in different locations.

Contract duration: 1 year, renewable
