Making a Difference as a Social Work Assistant

We have 10 newly created Social Work Assistant roles designed for individuals seeking a rewarding role within Children’s Services. You will provide assistance to qualified Social Workers, helping, protecting, and supporting families subject to statutory procedures within Children’s Social Care services. This includes:

• Assisting our social workers in “Being Brilliant at the Basics”

• Making and sustaining good relationships with children and families to help them achieve change and positive outcomes.

• Assisting Social Workers with assessments, direct work with families, involvement with intervention plans and a whole range of tasks that make a real difference to children.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to utilise existing skills and develop new ones. You will receive continuous support, development, and career progression opportunities on your journey with us. For some this could be support to train to be a qualified Social Worker.

The posts include some home working but will require you to regularly attend the St Helens office and travel around the St Helens and surrounding areas. Flexibility is required to meet family’s needs.
