JOB BRIEF The Public Education and national outreach (PE) team is hiring a Personal Services Contractor to support its work within the broader expanded Executive Office. PE advances the part of USIP’s mandate from Congress that focuses on serving the American people through outreach across the U.S. and through educational resources and engagement opportunities for a broad public audience.

Work schedule: 40 Hours/Week, for six months

Expected Start Date: ASAP (six month term) RESPONSIBILITIES • Coordinate support for onsite public visitor programs, including updating the schedule of visits; coordinating aspects of logistics and operational support; assisting with check-in; and ensuring program materials are on hand and set-up is complete • Provide overall support on signature Public Education initiatives, including the Peace Day Challenge, the Peace Teachers Program, and Virtual Roundtables for Universities • Upload and maintain data in Salesforce to track visitors, activities, and feedback, including conducting analysis • Provide overall administrative support, including: coordinating travel and processing travel vouchers and reimbursements; supporting event planning and liaising with Events team, AV team, and others; scheduling and handling logistics and promotion for USIP’s Speakers Bureau; etc.

Communications support: • Support Public Education’s social media presences (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), including by creating and posting regular new content, by identifying new opportunities to expand Public Education’s social media efforts, and by coordinating with USIP’s social media team • Coordinate and draft content for Public Education’s monthly newsletter, and analyze engagement

QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree and or equivalent years of experience is required. • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience in program support. • Strong interpersonal skills, including team player, good humor, and sound judgement. • Some experience in working on social media is highly desirable. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; adept at multi-tasking. • Experience with databases that track contacts and relationships is highly desirable; experience with Salesforce is especially useful.
