PURPOSE OF POSITION:

ARK is looking for a Project Support and Translation Officer who will be able to provide a range of administrative support functions for the project in relation to its daily activities. The Project Support and Translation Officer role serves two key purposes:

  1. The successful candidate will provide direct administrative support to project management team on a daily basis; and
  2. Will be working collaboratively with the management team to ensure a direct, accurate and professional written translation of project documents and correspondence and occasional interpreter services.

ABOUT YOU:

If you find yourself great in administrative tasks, excellent in typing and excel sheets, detail oriented, self-motivated, have a great command of English and Arabic with experience in written translation, and would like to improve your experience and skills in project support, then you will be a strong candidate for this job.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Support and Administration:

  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of project.
  • Handle the accurate filling of online project documentation.
  • Support Monitoring and Evaluation activity and data collection by keeping a record of attendance sheets, pre/post-tests, student feedback and student assessments during course delivery.
  • Support the administration of deployment of international subject matter experts into Jordan.
  • Support the production and printing of project course completion certificates.
  • Accurately updating a range of project-related documents.
  • Other administrative and support tasks as directed.

Written and Verbal Translation:

  • Provide direct written translation service to Project team when required. Project documents for translation will include, but will not be limited to, project reports, correspondence, and training materials.
  • Ensure all translated texts are technically, linguistically, and grammatically correct, error free, meet high quality standards, and do not need further editing after completion of translation.
  • Provide proper, clear, and faithful interpretation during meetings and training, using standard and clear language if required.
  • Check appropriate references to ensure proper use of the tactical and medical terminology.
  • Any other task associated with the programme as requested by Project Manager.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential

  • 0-2 years’ previous work experience as a translator, interpreter, or similar role
  • Fluency in English and Arabic
  • Good Knowledge of content editing tools
  • Degree in translation or linguistics

Desirable

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
