Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR Japan) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that reaches out to the most vulnerable populations around the globe. AAR Japan is to launch a new project of education to assist primary education in Kalobeyei, Turkana West Sub-County from 31st March 2023.

Therefore, AAR Japan is seeking for an Admin Officer for Kakuma operational office. The successful candidate will be on duty at AAR Japan Kakuma Office, which is located in Kakuma, Turkana West, Turkana County. The candidate will work under the direct supervision of AAR Japan’s internatinal staff. The details of the position in concern are as follows.

Duties;

  • Carry all duties under the direct supervision of AAR Japan’s international staff;
  • Be responsible for all procurements for the project implementation, including sourcing and validating suppliers, quotation collection, quotation analysis, preparation of procurement documents, liaison with suppliers for procurement service, stock management of procured materials, filing of procurement documents for a financial assessment;
  • Support AAR Japan’s international staff in necessary arrangements for the project, including but not limited to leave recording, vehicle management, office management, as well as analysis and documentation of collected data, and any other assistance needed;
  • Draft a monthly financial report and submit to AAR Japan’s international staff every month to report the expenditures made within the month;
  • Perform any other duties instructed by AAR Japan’s international staff

Requirements;

  • More than 3 years’ experience of administrative and financial work;
  • Work experience with UN agencies or international NGOs is highly valued;
  • Degree or experience in procurement, finance or administration is highly valued;
  • Fluent language skills of English;
  • Team-work skills;
  • Communication skills;
  • Independency and professionalism;
  • PC skills (Microsoft Office is a must);

Period (subject to change due to internal circumstances);

From 31st March 2023 to 31st December 2023 with 3-month probation period

Salary (Gross);

Gross amount of 45,000 KES to 81,900 KES per month (amount will be determined based on experiences or skills)
