Accounts Payable Accountant

Your role in the team

To take care of the accounting of several vessels of the EXMAR Group in order to make sure the Group and its subsidiaries comply with the applicable accounting standards and requirements.

Your responsibilities and tasks include

• Support in monthly/quarterly closing by performing checks on registered documents, timely delivery of required information to Business Unit Controller, providing assistance to the audit team during reviews, processing invoices and advances on port calls and making necessary adjustments basis instructions from Technical Superintendents;
• Take care of ledger accounts including registration of vessel cashbooks, making sure incoming invoices are registered on the correct project and cost centre, administration of accruals related to POs;
• Suppliers administration including registration and filing of incoming invoices, follow-up on approval of incoming invoices and unpaid balances;
• Treasury administration including preparation of weekly payment proposals and registration of bank statements.

Your profile

• Bachelor Accountancy;
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position;
• You are able to respect internal and external reporting deadlines;
• You are able to independently perform periodic closing figures;
• You are able to independently follow up on open items;
• Good knowledge of Belgian General Accepted Accounting Principles;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel and SQL in particular);
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
