International Transformation Foundation (ITF) is an internationally youth led non-profit organization providing youth educational and self-development programs, encompassing leadership and entrepreneurship, to harness creativity for a youth system that provides jobs, offering security, opportunities to grow, and contribute to the development of our communities.

International Transformation Foundation (ITF) Rwanda is dedicated to advancing sustainable education development in primary schools within Muhanga District, operating under an agreement with the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC). Established in 2018, ITF Rwanda focuses on promoting youth educational programs and fostering community development through innovative projects.

Current Project: Water Kiosk at School
Our flagship project involves implementing a transformative “Water Kiosk at School” model in Primary Schools in Muhanga District, Rwanda. This initiative aims to enhance learning outcomes and community well-being by providing access to clean tap water. Supported by ITF members and the commitment of the Muhanga District community, this project signifies our dedication to education and sustainable development.

ACCOUNT & ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT

Role Overview:

As the Administration and Accounts Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations specific to ITF’s operations in Rwanda. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  1. Handle, record, manage and present ITF’s financial data (Rwanda Office) in compliance with financial accounting regulations.
  2. Overseeing the incorporation of new accounting software to streamline financial data collection.
  3. In conjunction with the Public Relations Assistant and Secretary General, you are responsible for generating money for ITF’s projects.
  4. Upholding high accounting practices within our volunteer base.
  5. Conduct comprehensive physical inventory reviews biannually
  6. Maintain engagement with existing supporters, ensuring they are aware of projects that are underway, the impact they are having, and the financial transparency of all processes.
  7. Provide administrative support to the Secretary General, Operations Director and other staff.
  8. Operate manual and computerized office systems for instance; filing and maintaining: members database, monthly and annual reports database and the contacts database.
  9. Undertake general office duties such as; dealing with post mails, faxes and e-mail, drafting and sending standard letters, photocopying and collating papers and mailings, arranging for documents to be printed, monitoring and ordering stocks of basic items such as stamps, stationery, periodicals, equipment and other items, arranging travel: hotel and accommodation etc.
  10. Contribute generally to the work of organization, undertaking such other tasks as are appropriate to the nature and scope of the post.

Qualifications Needed:

We seek an individual with:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  2. Prior exposure to NGO/NPO environments would be advantageous.
  3. Experience or familiarity with financial accounting principles, software, and reporting.
  4. Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
  5. Detail-oriented with a focus on results.
  6. High level of self-confidence, flexibility, integrity, and honesty.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  8. Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  9. Motivated to learn and take on new challenges.
  10. Culturally sensitive.
  11. Unparalleled passion and commitment to youth development.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Comfortable working in Muhanga District, preferably residing in Kigali or Muhanga.
  2. Age bracket of 18 – 30 years.
  3. Minimum commitment of six months as a volunteer.
  4. Demonstrated teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Compensation:

Although ITF Volunteer staff enjoy limitless opportunities, ITF does NOT provide any kind of compensation. ITF staff operate on a full-time volunteer basis for a minimum of 6 months contract. They are responsible for all basic expenses such as home – office transportation, accommodation, etc. ITF ONLY provides direct operational expenses such as staff transportation to a meeting outside of the office, field visit, operations, etc.
