Overview

Pacific Retirement Services, a non-profit leader in the senior living/hospitality industry, is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable leader to serve as the Manager of Accounting Systems that will lead a team of process owners to refine existing accounting system processes and new system implementations through project management. The core areas of support include financials, budgeting, forecasting, revenue and expense management, and audit/compliance. You will act as a subject matter expert for accounting related systems and a people leader who is proficient in process management standardization practices through the management of scope, time, and resources (cost). As a leader and a manager of people, the goal is to eliminate silos, leverage best practices, and drive best in class results.

This position is available for flexible schedule (1-2 days remote work).

About You

  • This position requires significant advanced knowledge attained by either a four (4) year college degree (major in Business Administration, Accounting and/or Computer Science) or by commensurate prior job experience.
  • Direct experience with configuring and implementing accounting-related business processes and computerized accounting systems is required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and advanced knowledge of Excel is highly desired.
  • Project management (PMP) certification and use of project management systems is desired.
  • Knowledge of kaizen change management, agile business practices, business contracts, payroll regulations, treasury management, medical billing, auditing, compliance (such as HIPAA), state reporting requirements such as unclaimed property, PBJ and cost reports and other reporting principles is desired.

How You’ll Do It

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive innovation, change, and process improvement in areas including but not limited to the following: general ledger, accounts payable, cash management, medical billing, financial forecasting, compliance reporting, payroll, revenue reconciliations, financial close automation, etc.
  • Initiate, facilitate, design, assign, and implement accounting systems projects (such as Enterprise Resource Planning software) to successful completion – namely software conversion/implementation, recurring projects (primarily compliance), and ad hoc project requests (primarily continuous process improvement).
  • Direct software implementations and enhancement support with any professional third-party consulting firm when applicable.
  • Facilitate collaboration with other departments both in the central office and with our communities to identify process improvements and coordinate the development of dashboards and compliance reporting tools.
  • Lead and cross-train your team who is responsible for the maintenance of all software used in Accounting for revenue, expenses, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and compliance reporting. Responsibilities will include assisting with the implementation, regular maintenance, ongoing support, documentation and training on these tools, policies and procedures.
  • Emphasis is placed on the promotion of operational efficiency, effective communication of information, internal control and compliance.
