Job Purpose

In collaboration with your colleagues, you will be able to shape and design specific activities that are relevant at any point in time. We want you to work creatively to deliver impact and respond to relevant opportunities.

With your colleagues, you will develop your team workplan to drive initiatives, develop ideas, as well ensure there is space for cross organisational working and short-term tasks. From this you will devise your individual workplan that will form the basis of your day to day activities and your performance reviews.

As Accountant, you will be expected to perform:

  • A review of all Management Accounts reports template
  • Take a lead role in rolling over the KPI for countries and portfolios
  • Take a lead role in developing and improving the financial accounting and budgeting system.
  • Take an investigation across the organisation and identify all the required changes on the new system upgrade …
  • Support in Collate/analyse corporate-level financial information for internal and external use.
  • Support the global team in managing their department budgets and recoveries.
  • Work with Finance Business Partners during country localisation to ensure country office business units are separated from the HelpAge accounts system and have a robust financial system.

Person Specification

Essential

You will be someone with:

  • Full qualification with a recognised financial body (e.g. ACCA, CIMA)
  • Good Analytical and reporting skills (verbal and in writing).
  • Good knowledge of major financial systems for mid-size organisation preferably SUN financial system and Vision Reporting software.
  • Understanding of donor requirements and the management of restricted funds.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation, production, and interpretation of monthly accounts and interpreting management accounts (budgeting, forecasting)
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing corporate level statutory accounts in accordance to SORP requirements.
